If you find that after an upgrade to Visual Studio 2022 version 17.4.1, your Synergy projects fail to build or are “incompatible," it may be because the SDI extension is disabled.

Microsoft has reintroduced an issue that causes some Visual Studio upgrades to disable the Synergy extension. We have contacted Microsoft and informed them of this issue. They will be making corrective changes in an upcoming release of Visual Studio 2022.

Until Microsoft corrects this issue, the only workaround is to go to the “Extensions” tab and select the “Manage Extensions” option. Once there, you can re-enable the Synergy extension and restart Visual Studio.

If this still does not resolve your issue, you may be experiencing a different problem and should contact Support for further assistance.
