Create new schema files in repository projects within VS

Delivered

Visual studio should allow new schema files to be added to repository projects.

It comes up saying there are no types to base the new file on and it doesn't allow a file to be added.  I am working on a synergy.net projet, but I would assume its the same in traditional projects

I had to create a blank file in notepad in the repository folder and then add it as an existing file

I know that I could use the RPS utility program and export the schema, but I prefer to work with schema files as source code, and let eth VS build update the repository.

If there already is a way to do this, could someone let me know ?

Hey Gordon,

I'm interested in adding a schema file template in for the repository projects, but I want to make sure it's actually going to be useful for you. There's no real agreed-upon extension for a schema file and our default is a .scm. If our template also defaulted to .scm but let you rename, is that sufficient?

Is a blank schema file what you're looking for or is there a need for some boilerplate information inside the template?

Great idea. Thanks for submitting it.

.scm is fine with me.

I am onmly looking for a blank file

It would be nice if the editor was smart enough to highlight key words in teh schema, and autocomplete things like "description", Structure" etc

I think I alway have an idea recorded fort that part of it

Is there any update on this ?  I just tried it in 11.1.1c but it didn't work - no template

I checked this again in 11.1.1f.  Still no templates come up

I'm pleased to report that this has now been done, and will be included in the up-coming 11.1.1g release.
