This is a recently discovered issue having to do with how Azure (our licensing host platform) handles OpenSSL. There was a bug introduced into OpenSSL 1.1.1 for SSL_CTX_set_client_CA_list() that caused a malformed request (much larger than it should be). Azure ignored this problem earlier, but this is no longer the case. OpenSSL 1.1.1f (which is built into Synergy/DE 11.1.1i) does not present these problems.
The fix is to either upgrade to Synergy/DE 11.1.1i or higher OR install the latest Licensing upgrade package. Both of these will update the license management components on the affected Linux machines.
Additionally, it is recommended to restart synd after the upgrade (https://www.synergex.com/docs/versions/v120/index.htm#icg/icgChap2Syndprogram.htm#Starting%20License%20Manager%20manually). Linux systems allow a file to be replaced while still in use, which leaves the old file in memory. Restarting synd will ensure the new license components are being used.
At this time, Synergex is unable to do anything to change the way Azure is dealing with OpenSSL requirements and can\'t provide a fix other than what has been mentioned above.
